Lighter roasts.
Clearer cups.

Ultralight Coffee is a curated shop for ultra-light roasted coffee from Europe’s most precise independent roasters, with the brewing water and the know-how to get the most out of every bag.

What we mean by ultra-light

The lightest end of the roast spectrum, on purpose.

Ultra-light roasting stops early to keep what makes each coffee distinct: origin, variety, processing. Done well, it gives cups that are aromatic, transparent and sweet rather than roasty. Done badly, it gives cups that are grassy and sour. The difference is the roaster, and how you brew.

What we’re building

One shop, three things done carefully.

01

A multi-roaster shelf

A small, rotating selection from roasters who specialise in ultra-light and very light profiles. We plan to stock the style that roasters like Substance, Datura and DAK are known for, all in one place.

02

Brewing minerals

Light roasts are fussy about water. Our mineral kit (in development) lets you make well-known brewing-water recipes at home from distilled water, with exact recipes and a calculator.

Guides that actually help

Clear, practical starting points for rest, grind, temperature and ratio, written for very light roasts rather than general coffee advice.

Water first

Most of your cup is water. Make it on purpose.

Tap and bottled water vary wildly in hardness and alkalinity. Too much buffer flattens the acidity light roasts are prized for. Starting from distilled water and adding back a measured amount of magnesium and bicarbonate gives you repeatable water, every time.
